Looked After Children

At Castletown Community Primary School, we are committed to providing the highest level of care, support and opportunity for all pupils, including Looked-After Children (LAC) and Previously Looked-After Children (PLAC). We understand that these children may face additional challenges, and we work closely with families, carers, the Virtual School and external agencies to ensure that their needs are fully understood and met.

We prioritise the wellbeing, safety and educational progress of every looked-after child in our care. We ensure that children receive personalised support, high-quality teaching and carefully targeted interventions that help them succeed academically, socially and emotionally.

At Castletown Community Primary School, looked-after and previously looked-after children are fully included in all aspects of school life. We aim to provide stability, nurture and consistency so that every child feels valued, confident and able to flourish. Student Support Plans (SSPs) are used effectively to set ambitious goals and guide the support we provide.

We are proud of our inclusive culture and remain committed to helping every child thrive, whatever their starting point or circumstance.
