Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
At Castletown Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), is valued, supported and able to achieve their full potential. We believe that all pupils have the right to a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum, alongside high expectations for learning, progress and personal development.
Through early identification, inclusive teaching and strong partnerships with parents, carers and external professionals, we work to remove barriers to learning and promote independence, confidence and wellbeing. Our approach ensures that SEND pupils are fully included in school life and make meaningful progress, both academically and socially, in a safe, nurturing and supportive environment.
If you would like to discuss your SEND requirements in detail, please contact our SENDCo (Mrs E. Sample) to arrange an appointment:

The Government has asked all Local Authorities in the UK to publish, in one place, information about the services and provision they expect to be available in their area for children and young people from 0 to 25 who have Special Educational Needs and/or a Disability (SEND).
This is known as the Local Offer. Further information about the Local Offer can be found on the Together for Children Sunderland website.

Schools also have to publish a SEND Information Report on their website. This will provide details about how we implement our policy for children and young people with SEND.
